Noblesville Approves Plan to Add Residential Living, Commercial Space to Downtown

NOBLESVILLE, IN (July 29, 2020) – The Noblesville Common Council yesterday approved a plan to add residential living and high-end commercial space to the downtown area. Mayor Chris Jensen presented the project vision and community development enhancements for the Village at Federal Hill, a $29 million mixed-use development on the west side of the White River near Federal Hill Commons.  The plan was approved unanimously by the Council.

“Our goal for the Village at Federal Hill and for all our neighborhood developments is to create a ‘sense of place’ for the people living in an Old Town community. It’s an outstanding location with its proximity to downtown Noblesville, Riverview Health, and the park. We are excited to be a part of the City’s plans to create new opportunities for its residents.”

Justin Moffett, partner at Old Town

The project, which was first introduced in February at Noblesville’s State of the City address, is a public-private partnership between the City of Noblesville and Old Town Companies. Old Town has developed a number of award-winning community-style neighborhoods throughout central Indiana. A subcommittee will be tasked with working in collaboration with Old Town to ensure final architecture choices are aligned with the city’s vision.

“We are encouraged to have this project move forward at such a quick pace to provide a vibrant, livable, walkable connection between downtown and the west side of the White River. This mixed-use project offers 163 living units and 36,000 square feet of commercial retail space. These new additions are key to driving economic development to our downtown area.”

Mayor Chris Jensen

Jensen added that the project includes more than 430 parking spaces. The parking is a combination of surface, on-street, and structured garage spaces. The additional parking spaces add much-needed access for the park and nearby area and brings people of all demographics living, working, and visiting into the community.

The Village at Federal Hill supports two of Jensen’s administration pillars – economic development and downtown enhancement.
