This week, Noblesville Economic Development Manager Kayla Robinson and Economic Development Coordinator Sarah Davis had the opportunity to attend the OU Economic Development Institute (EDI) training in Kansas City—a premier professional development program for economic developers. They joined more than 160 economic development professionals from around the world to deepen their expertise, expand their networks, and gain new tools to bring back to the Noblesville community.
“Economic development is about more than just growth—it’s about creating opportunities, supporting local businesses, and building stronger, more resilient communities. Being part of this training alongside such passionate professionals was both inspiring and energizing. A heartfelt thank you to our leadership for investing in professional development opportunities like this. Your support empowers us to continue learning, growing, and making meaningful contributions to the places we serve,” said Kayla Robinson.

The OU EDI program is known for its in-depth curriculum and hands-on approach to training. It covers core topics like business retention and expansion, strategic planning, real estate development, workforce attraction, and entrepreneurship support—skills and strategies that directly align with Noblesville’s mission to foster thoughtful, sustainable economic growth.
By investing in advanced training like this, the Noblesville Economic Development (NED) team reinforces its commitment to leadership, innovation, and long-term impact. Whether it’s recruiting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, or planning for infrastructure that supports our growing population, the NED team is focused on driving progress that benefits all.
Professional development is a cornerstone of that work. It ensures our team remains at the forefront of economic trends, equipped to address the evolving needs of both our community and the industries shaping its future.
We’re proud of Kayla and Sarah for representing Noblesville and bringing new knowledge and energy back to the team. Their participation in programs like OU EDI reflects the city’s broader commitment to excellence, collaboration, and a vibrant economic future.
Because in Noblesville, economic development isn’t just a department—it’s a promise.
