What We Do

The Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI) is a specialty orthopedic practice with its flagship facility located at Innovation Mile in Noblesville. With over 30 years of combined heritage through the Indiana Joint Replacement Institute, IOI’s team of surgeons and providers delivers elite surgical and non-surgical care across hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, and fracture treatment. Their state-of-the-art Noblesville facility includes four operating rooms, a gait lab, on-site imaging, therapy services, and an education and research center.

Why Noblesville

Noblesville was the clear choice for our flagship facility. Innovation Mile gave us the opportunity to build something purpose-built from the ground up, in a community that was actively investing in its future. The city's growing population, strong household incomes, and proximity to the broader Indianapolis metro meant we could serve a large and underserved patient base without the overhead and congestion of an urban campus. The NED team was also genuinely collaborative throughout the process, which made a significant difference.

Noblesville has directly contributed to our growth in ways we didn't fully anticipate. The community response has been overwhelming. Patients are driving from across Indiana and the Midwest specifically to come to this facility, and the Innovation Mile address carries a credibility that resonates with referral partners and surgical candidates alike. Being part of a district that includes companies like Caterpillar, Curium, and BorgWarner also signals to our team that they're working in a place that takes excellence seriously.

Recent Milestone

★ Highlight
Cutting the ribbon on our flagship facility in February 2025 was the milestone we had been working toward for three years. The 38,000-square-foot center represents a $35 million investment in Noblesville and in the future of outpatient orthopedic care in Indiana. In our first year, we expanded our surgical team, added upper extremity services, and established ourselves as the first anchor tenant at Innovation Mile. We are also proud that Dr. Meneghini was named President of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons in 2025.

Workforce Strategy That's Working
We recruit surgeons and clinical staff who share a specific philosophy about patient care. Credentials matter, but alignment on outcomes-first thinking matters more. We have found that building a team around a shared clinical mission, rather than simply filling roles, creates an environment where people stay and grow. Our research and education programs also give clinical staff a reason to engage beyond daily patient volume, which has been a meaningful retention factor.
Attracting & Retaining Talent
We offer our team a facility and a care model they can be proud of. Working in a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center with advanced technology, a collaborative surgical team, and a genuine focus on outcomes gives our staff something that a traditional hospital environment rarely can. We also invest in continuing education, support participation in national conferences and research, and maintain a culture where every member of the team, from surgeons to support staff, understands the direct impact of their work on patient lives.
