Noblesville Façade Improvement Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

NOBLESVILLE, IN (January 17, 2020) – Applications are currently being accepted for the City of Noblesville Façade Improvement Grant Program. Since 2008, the Façade Improvement Grant Program has stimulated investment of more than $2.1 million through public and private investment in building façades and the program continues to gain momentum each year.

The Façade Grant Improvement Program boundaries expanded in 2019. The program was previously limited to the Central Business District but now all historic, properties in Noblesville are eligible to apply. The Façade Improvement Grant Program is designed to stimulate business investment, maintain and expand economic contribution, promote the architectural appreciation and initiate aesthetic improvements to historic properties within the incorporated city limits of Noblesville.

The city offers three types of grants through the program: a small projects grant, which a 50% reimbursement of up to $2,500; a substantial façade improvement grant, which awards a 50% reimbursement of up to $25,000; and an architectural design assistance grant, which gives a 100% reimbursement of up to $500 and helps pay for the cost of professional design services for improving a building's exterior. The program is open to building and business owners who have commercial activity as their primary purpose. A multitude of façade improvements is eligible for funding.

While the boundary has been expanded, preference will be given to applicants that have property within the Central Business District. If funding allows after the March 31, 2020 application deadline, the second round of grants may be available later in the year.

All completed applications will be reviewed by a five-member Façade Grant Review Committee before being approved for funding by the City of Noblesville Board of Works. Applicants will be notified within 30 days of the application period closing. This program highlights a key pillar of the Jensen administration focused on preserving and enhancing Noblesville's historic .
