We are currently engaged in the very exciting process of updating our Economic Development Strategic Plan. The department's former plan concluded in 2010 and laid an excellent foundation for what this community should strive for on an economic and sustainability level. The updated plan will take the product that the 2002-2010 plan developed and look to see how we can market, communicate and sell that product to our citizens, existing businesses, entreprenuers and businesses across the country and world who may be looking for a new home.
The upcoming plan will also include an update to the Downtown Noblesville Strategic Development Plan. We are including this update in the overall plan so that we can further build on our recent successes in downtown as well as creatively transform initiatives which were originally planned in strong economic times that don't necessarily fit the current development landscape. This is key, in both aspects of the plan, to infuse flexibility so that the plan can be successful in strong or poor environments.
The public will be very actively engaged throughout the entire process through business surveys, stakeholder interviews and public feedback when the draft is completed. This plan will also include directives from the results of the Citizen Survey taken in 2010.
